It's been a little over two years or 936 days since I have last blogged. As you can guess life has taken a hold of me!
In January, the boys and I picked up the pieces and moved 2 hours away from the only family and life we knew, to travel a new path together, not knowing what the future would hold! The saying, “you can take the boy out of the country, but you can't take the country out of the boy," rings true! Though the boys and I are country at heart, the city has grown on us. Personally, I think that I am now spoiled by the city :) The first year was a little rocky for the boys but every year keeps getting better!
Austyn is now 12 years old and in the 6th grade. Dylan is now 9 and in the 4th grade. My babies are growing up to be men! The boys now attend Oakside Academy, and even though they are not happy with the strict rules and uniforms, they adore the school, teachers, and the wonderful friends they have met!
I have since finished College, got my Business Degree, and started my own business raising parrots and selling pet supplies. It's the most rewarding and hardest job I have ever had! Thankfully, every year gets better and I can finally say I have succeeded at building me a career! It's hard work owning your own business. My business tends to ground me to home 24/7, 365 days of the year but it's hard not to love what I do! Raising parrots has the same rewards as watching your children achieve their first milestones!
Kevin has recently been upgraded in his company and is now a captain of a Boeing 727 flying cargo! I am so happy and so proud of that man. He has worked so hard and never seems to give himself enough credit where credit is due!
Life has been amazing these past two years! And I have so much more to share in the following chapters to come!
Karen is the owner of Boutique Marketing Studio & blog owner of My Life, Your Entertainment. “My life, Your Entertainment,” is a real-life, non-sugarcoating blog by yours truly! I am a mother of two teenage boys (Lord, I know you love me). I am a pilot bride who envies her groom’s love for flying. I find humor in the little things and will laugh until my belly hurts. I am stubborn, I cuss worst than a sailor. I am too outspoken, I drink, I have tattoos, I drive a fancy truck and I am addicted to chocolate. I love hard and trust too easy. However, I can build a wall to protect my heart faster than an airplane taking off at 130 knots. The life motto that I have, and will, always live by is, “On a wing and a prayer.” My life, my family, and all its beautiful chaos, takes place in the beautiful Great Lakes State. You will find that my blog talks about all of the things I have passion for: life, marriage, kids, marketing, hobbies… you name it! I hope somewhere, there is a soul or two I can speak to. So, stick around and don’t forget to subscribe! Xo, Karen;
